The hero's task is to tell friend from foe, and to keep walking steadily onward.

The road is long and treacherous, prowled by wolves, ghosts, and wizards — but helpers also appear along the way, good fairies and animal guides, often cloaked in unlikely disguises. The hero's task is to tell friend from foe, and to keep walking steadily onward.

Flu Vaccine Shortage Is Due to Low Price Not Manufacturing Problems; No Financial Incentive for Manufacturers
ALLENTOWN, Pa., Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Contrary to numerous reports, the shortage of flu vaccine is not due to manufacturing problems and plant shutdowns according to a recent study by The Webster Consulting Group.

``The real culprit is the vaccine's low price,' states the study's author, David L. Webster, Ph.D. ``It's a matter of economics.'

``The whole process of producing, selling and distributing the flu vaccine is more complicated than people realize,' said Webster. ``It not only involves manufacturers and distributors, but the World Health Organization (WHO). The composition of the vaccine changes each year, so manufacturers must wait for the WHO's recommendation on the formula to complete production. Most contracts for sale of the vaccine are made early in the spring, long before the WHO makes its final recommendation.'

At prices ranging from $2.00 to $3.00 per dose, quantities of vaccine that are returned or not sold at the end of the season can turn a manufacturer's annual profit into a loss. As a result, each manufacturer produces only what they know they can sell.

By the time manufacturers learn that actual production is different from original projections, as they did this summer, it is difficult to make up the shortage. There are also few financial incentives to do so. Diverting resources away from vaccines with guaranteed sales of $7.00 to $60.00 per dose is not popular among demanding shareholders.

``This year's shortage once again draws attention to the issue of pharmaceutical pricing and how it can severely impact public health,' said Webster. ``The shortage creates an opportunity for pharmaceutical companies, policymakers, and public health officials to develop a strategy to better meet the needs of consumers.'

``Ironically, it is senior citizens who will suffer the most from low pricing,' said Webster.

David L. Webster is president and founder of The Webster Consulting Group. The firm provides pricing consultation to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical industries. Webster formerly was director of pricing for Aventis Pasteur, the vaccine division of Aventis, one of the world's largest drug manufacturers. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago. For a complete study go to www.websterandcompany.com or contact Dr. Webster at 610-820-6436.

Hey HL,

I am so sorry about not meeting up with you. I have had (still having) a hellish renovation experience.

The short version is the screen wall had to be taken down and replaced with another unit. Tomorrow all renovations should be done and then clean up.

I am under a lot of stress as I haven't yet planned India and I leave Mon.

I rather discuss in person but I don't know how btw renovations, school and extra curricula activities I will be able to. I will be at my apt from 9am - 5pm. What is your schedule?

I have to admit I am a little uneasy about renting to you because of your question as to whether it was ok to bring "girls" there. The thought of my apt being a bachelor pad makes me uncomfortable. I know you are single + have every right to get your groove on but I wanted to let you know that isn't particularly how I want to leave my apt. I usually rent to mom's / couple or girls because guys are well guys...I am letting you know I am still on the fence and in the meantime I posted apt last night on Craig's list just in case...No bites yet so I am still willing to chat with you about and see how you feel.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner but I am overwhelmed with everything right now.

Hope you are well!

David Webster has made me aware of his Court Order.

To whom it may concern:

David Webster has become a member in good standing of the Mood Disorder Support Groups/NY attending groups for the last 3 years:  March or April 2010 to the present.  We meet twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays.  Because I facilitate his group sometimes, I can say that he attends regularly.  We also have lectures every month, which he attends regularly.

I look forward to his presence in my group because he is an enthusiastic participant.  He tells us that he gets a lot out our group.

David Webster has made me aware of his Court Order.

Thank you for your consideration and your time.

not without a fight, though. it was like separating siamese twins...lots of blood on the floor and the survival of both parties was always in question.

and you are a poet, truly. metamorphosis toward freedom, never heard it so beautifully expressed.

I do wish you all the best in your search!

yours is an interesting approach...many people say i look like i'm in my late 30's/early 40's, and i realize 50 is a cutoff in a lot of searches, but, oh well. i'm 50! fewer hits but the ones that do are people i like. peace and mad respect, hippie lou

Who is to argue with whatever works for them? In fact, I met someone very special who happens to be my age and loves the fact that I'm 52. And although we haven't deleted our profiles yet (it is just too early), I'm not interested in dating other people. So if you look really young for your age, it's a good thing. It just so happens the man I'm dating also looks incredibly young for his age. That takes care of initial attraction and then hopefully, there's more to the connection. It's working for me, that's all I know!

I do wish you all the best in your search!

#commoncondition #cc #peripateticskool #myshepherd #isthebestshepherdevah!!

Dear David,

Working with you this weeks has been an amazing experience but it has also been a test to my physical and mental strength.

God is my strength but I know that I can't ask him for a miracle in order to do my will and follow my dreams.

I have to listen to my body. The colonoscopy drained me physically and mentally. I haven't been sleeping and resting enough hours, nor eating as I should and need.

My priority is to work in my wellness in order to be healthy and able to be at service of others.

You are now in an excellent program at Bellevue and started new medication that is going to help to you. That was my main goal for you.

I'm not only your "recovery coach" but above all your friend, a peer and at this point I can say without doubt that you have become like a brother to me.
I don't think I have to say because I rather just show it, but I want you to know that you can always count on me, my love for you is unconditional.

Your peripatetic school is teaching more than Harvard and your life is giving me invaluable lessons that I would always keep in my heart.

We have a big trip ahead of us and I'm praying for everything to go smooth.
I ask your 100% cooperation and to keep trusting in me, I just want to protect you and I will look for your best interest.

I pray that God blesses you and guide you on every step you take in life.

With deep admiration and gratitude,

anything you every want or ever need, including my cooperation, you have from me, 110%.  I love you and I thank God every moment for having you in my life.  You give me one thing my loving mother could not give, and my life is now complete.  I am in awe of your grace and your mercy.  With much love, David

david, three things i remember missing were:

pls bring an itemized list of things missing from the apartment and their replacement value.  ie what would it cost to replace them today. thx, david

david, three things i remember missing were:
- a sound kit (that included sony PCM M-10 Audio Recorder $ 250, with a sony tripod stand for it $ 60 and a carrying case for $ 20), together the whole kit with tax would be about $ 350
- flip hd video camera (now discontinued), value $ 125
- wallet with assorted foreign currency, worth about $ 60 -70
so total replacement value would round off to $ 500

thank you.  i will print this out and present the bill to the ppl who were ever at #117.  you will be paid an extra $500 this friday.  if you want to charge for your time spent replacing it and your time and lost opportunities of doing without the stuff, feel free to add it to the bill.  peace with kind regards, hippie lou

hey david, i really don't want to be involved via mail or otherwise with the people who lived here and whom you are going to hold accountable. please leave me out of all that. i am extremely relieved to be getting the money you owe me. the missing stuff is unfortunate but at this point just being able to have the five thousand you owe me would be a huge gift from the universe. thanks.

Xoxo hope you are well,

he is saying he approves of and is living in an architecture of suspended animation.  it is not an honest and direct way of communicating the suspended magnetic field that this "relationship" will remain in, perhaps in perpetuity or until both charges are blown clear of that magnetic field.  my two cents, take it with a grain of salt.

do u remember the acronym dare and what each letter stood for?  i can go look it up.  peace and much <3, hl on the dl

What do yu mean - I dont get the message he is giving my female friend. ... Is he in the relationship or not? Is he dishonest? Is she second best until he finds so else??? What could she ask him to get more clarity?

he is suspended with her in an air pocket.  i wouldn't call it a relationship.  he's not lying, but he's not being direct and honest.  hw for your friend - what is it about the charge she's putting out that attracts "less than direct" men?  perhaps she is less than direct herself.  tell the world who you are and who you are not, what you want and what you do not want.  just that process of getting there and saying it will be a permanent "posion pill" to guys like this.  if she wants a long term monogamous relationship with a guy then say it.  a non-threatening way of saying it is - "i realize we have to feel each other out initially, but if i like you and u like me i would like this to be long term.  agreed? if he waffles, you know where he's coming from.  if that is what she wants she should say it and let the chips fall where they may.  she may be afraid of letting the chips fall where they may, but it's better than floating on the chips only to have them melt away.  imho he is an awful guy and if this is the same friend you talked to me about a year or so ago, she is putting out a microwave that attracts these boy wonders.  change the microwave, change your love life. :)

Yeah, it´s my friend again ;-) I feel so sorry for her and since I´ve learnt about this "new" encouter she´s having, my days weren´t that good either ...:-) well, nothing I can about "advise" her .. Thankd so much for taking tzhe time and "conslut" me in order for me to advise her ... what a srange world ... how are ou doing? I think about you often and i still "sense" that - given we would have met under different circumstances,,, in a different orbit, we´d be a good match in the longrun :-)))) xoxo

David, even if he doesn't come through for you, keep looking forward.  The most important thing is your health.  It defies my comprehension how you navigate NYC without income, but you do.  There is a ton of public health care out there you can take advantage of.  Start there. Stay healthy while you figure out other ways.  Nothing is permanent.  Just take it one step at a time.

very nice to hear from you.  No, I have not heard from Steve.  No sweat.  Working other avenues, things are coming through.  You are a friend in the best sense of the word.  I'm very grateful The Webster Consulting Group, Inc. has a CZO.  the best one in the biz.  When CZO's talk, ppl listen.  I'm listening.  And managing more than just risk.  Fondly, dw

Hello Mr Webster,
I can see you next tuesday in the early afternoon, at 2 oclock. We would have to talk on the phone before that to work out some logistics. I'd also like to get an idea of what you are thinking you need. I would like to set up a time to talk. Can you talk thursday morning at 10:30?
Best,
Dr Tager

This fits you perfectly, cause you dare:

my dear friend, I just decided to rename you: you actually are "DARE" (DAvidRefinedEnigma) ..
This fits you perfectly, cause you dare:
1. all things;
2. ie.,. the impossible;
3) to do s.th
and - last but not least: you accept a dare (like ME*)!
Therefore, aka?  .. chaka (remember chaka khan?!).. sp? dl ... hl... mean=?
I don´t need to understand every Hippilou term - what counts is that I understand YOU.
A big hug over the great divide, T.

karma 2nite?

No I think the 17th, I'll send an invite

ok...promise i'll come with my flashmob.
i'm long overdue.

Groovy

David,
When you schedule allows give me a call and I will give you an update on a conversation I had with Steve.

I'm glad you've found a mooring, a ballast of late.

Sweet Lou:

Neal let me know you stopped by, left me your business card. I'm glad you've found a mooring, a ballast of late.

I must also start with an apology, as I let my curiosity get the best of me in this last year or so.

If you will allow me, give me the permission, may I call you David? I'll re-introduce myself as well, my name is JC, it's a privilege to meet you sir.

My warmest and my best,

JC

to me
hippie lou double u.  I have worked something out for you.  This depends of course on you coming up with some ducats and reaching a suitable arrangement with Nina Tager.  I think you will like her. She meets all of your criteria.
[2:42:15 PM] david schriger: Call her office at 212-517-7005  tell her how to get in touch with you and she will be in touch.  Once you have done that and figure out what you need, I am happy to talk to your brother..... to help convince them that this is money well spent, not just feeding your disease.
[2:42:30 PM] david schriger: Let me know whatcha need my brother.
